Overview

The National Mall Gateway is an educational platform developed in partnership with the Trust for the National Mall, the National Park Service, and HP. Designed to engage Gen Z and educators, it provides interactive tools like themed walking tours, customizable tours, and a Virtual Tour of the National Mall. Powered by AI, the site also offers educational activities from partnerships with the National Archives and the Library of Congress, making it a valuable resource for teachers, students, and visitors to explore U.S. history.

Challenge

There is a significant gap in historical knowledge among younger generations, and teachers struggle to engage students with the National Mall. Educators need an accessible, engaging platform that offers curated content and interactive tools to teach American history effectively—whether in the classroom or virtually.

Solution

The National Mall Gateway solves this by offering interactive, customizable tours, a Virtual Tour, and AI-powered educational activities tailored to different grade levels. It enables users to explore and learn about historical sites in a meaningful and accessible way, addressing both in-person and remote learning needs.
